Albuquerque Academy’s investments in a challenging curriculum, highly qualified faculty and staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and comprehensive student support allow it to provide an unparalleled learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and love for lifelong learning and development – skills and attributes needed to thrive in our ever-increasingly changing world.

The Academy Fund
Critical to Achieving Our Mission
The Albuquerque Academy Fund provides an opportunity for all members and friends of the school to secure the continued quality of an Academy education. Each year the Academy Fund raises money critical to maintaining quality programming and a state-of-the-art education. Participation serves as an expression of confidence and appreciation for the school and the work that takes place on campus each day on behalf of our students. The number of participants grows the fund much more effectively than the size of each gift. The fund benefits every facet of the school’s operation and helps ensure the difference between tuition and the true cost of educating an Academy student.
The Endowment
Ensuring Support for Future Generations
Gifts to the Albuquerque Academy endowment protect and provide for the financial stability and security of the school in perpetuity. A percentage of the school’s total endowment, as determined by the board of trustees, and the interest generated by it is used to support the annual operating budget while the corpus remains intact to keep our community strong for generations of students to come.
Each student benefits from the endowment every year, as income from the endowment is used to offset our current tuition from the true cost of educating each child.
Because our school’s mission requires that our community’s fundraising efforts meet the difference between tuition income and the actual cost of an Academy education, we prioritize initiatives designed to raise funds for our ongoing operating costs and reserve the creation of endowed funds for unique circumstances.
The Academy is the proud and grateful beneficiary of a variety of named endowed funds. Gifts totaling $35,000 or more may be used to create an endowed fund to support a particular school program and may be named in honor or memory of someone. Once a fund is established, additional gifts may be added to the fund to help it grow, as a percentage approved annually by the board of trustees determines the annual payout from the fund, to be used to support the designated program. Annual stewardship reports are sent to endowed fund donors, providing an update on how the fund’s payout was used over the previous academic year.

Featured Funds
Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted gifts are among the most powerful ways to support the Academy’s mission. They allow the school to direct resources where they are needed the most and allow flexibility to respond to needs, seize opportunities, and ensure every student benefits from the full Academy experience. Unrestricted funds support tuition assistance for students, faculty salaries, and campus improvements.
The Parker Chanin ’26 Fund was established by Parker’s parents in loving memory of their daughter, who passed away early in her senior year. Gifts to this fund honor Parker’s spirit and generosity by supporting Albuquerque Academy’s areas of greatest need, including tuition assistance, faculty, and campus initiatives.
Endowed/Restricted Funds
Endowed funds provide lasting support for Albuquerque Academy. The principal is invested in perpetuity, and a portion of the annual earnings helps sustain programs, support students, faculty excellence, and other priorities — ensuring that your gift makes an enduring impact for generations to come.
Restricted funds allow donors to direct their giving toward specific programs, initiatives, or areas of passion, such as tuition assistance, the arts, athletics, or capital projects. These gifts bring meaningful initiatives to life while strengthening the Academy’s future.
The Coach K. Carroll Charger Football Fund honors the life and legacy of Coach Kevin Carroll, who was the Chargers head football coach for 30 years, and ensures that his passion for the sport and dedication to his players inspire future generations of New Mexico students. The fund supports and enhances Albuquerque Academy’s football program.
The Cristina Quiroga Memorial Fund allows students who receive tuition assistance to participate in Albuquerque Academy student exchange programs, a cause important to Cristina and her family. Your donation is a thoughtful way to honor the life of Señora Quiroga, a devoted educator and beloved member of our community.
The Todd R. Webster ’96 Fund for Performing Arts was created to honor the life, spirit, and legacy of Todd R. Webster, a proud member of the Albuquerque Academy Class of 1996 whose passion for the performing arts left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. The goal is to ensure that future generations of Academy students experience that same creative joy, curiosity, and community that Todd so deeply valued.

Why Philanthropy at Albuquerque Academy Matters
